Here are a few pictures of Henry and Sean playing football outside during our hotel days. Yes, it is full-on tackle, and they take the game very seriously. A few times other boys have joined in, only to have their parents yank them from the game a few minutes later after realizing that H & S are ROUGH.
The boys are now in basketball, and loving it! Thankfully, they understand that basketball is NOT a contact sport, and we haven't had any ejections from the games yet! Sean's "games" are more of a practice that will eventually lead to games. They take place on Friday evening, and the boy is in his uniform within three minutes of waking up in the morning. He LIVES for Fridays! He is already dribbling with either hand and a scoring machine!
After only a few practices, Henry started weekly games. He seems take more after his mom, and appears to be a defensive specialist! He is doing great, and improving weekly. It is amazing how much joy it has brought us watching him in his first organized sport- I cried the entire first game! Here he is in his first game:
Oh, and his first game was extra special, Uncle Kelly was able to come watch him play!

They both look way too naturally athletic in each photo. I cannot believe you have only had to deal with one broken arm! So healthy...so boy!
ReplyDeletethat is so special! every age has an exciting "first" and I bet it's such a thrill to finally get to sit back and watch them go out and have fun on their own(I would totally cry, too). The boys tackling each other remind me of Penelope and Lucy now (except I'm sure our version of rough play is like two fluffy bunnies compared to the boys!)
