So happy together....most of the time

There was a weight discrepancy with Ben's birth weight, and Sam's length & possibly his weight.  We found this out while we were still in the hospital when the day after birth Ben weighed 4lbs14oz- almost a whole pound smaller than his birth weight!  The doctors and we agreed that the birth stats didn't seem to make sense, at least comparing the boys' sizes to each other, and it was obvious that Ben did not lose a pound, so after some investigating by the lactation consultant, we discovered that the hospital  was using new scales in the operating room, and many nurses were not using them correctly.  Apparently we were not the only family that weekend having this issue.  Unfortunately, we are unsure of their official birth stats, so we are just using the ones they gave us.  Needless to say, they were very small, actually they were TINY.  Ben was still 4.14 when we brought him home, and Sam was 5.3.  Initially, they were not great feeders, but as they matured they got better and better.  Once they started gaining, they gained about an ounce a day!  Even thought they are still small, they have grown and changed so much.

I apologize for the lack of editing on all of these photo posts, but by the time I find the time to edit photos, these boys will be teenagers!

Meet Samuel...

Sam makes his needs known (but that is just what a youngest of five does, I totally get it)!  He is the more fussy of the two, but the poor guy has reflux, so it is understandable.  Sam can get us all laughing with his adorable facial expressions with his round eyes and mouth.  He is the bigger of the two with shorter, rounder features and frame.

Meet Benjamin....

Ben has a sweet disposition and is extremely alert when awake.  He is the older, but smaller of the two with very petite features and and frame.

all done!
